Check in was efficient. Inn keeper was pleasant and helpful. We knew the inn was full. Only two others checking in after us.
Then we went to our room. We have no way of knowing how long ago an animal died or a murder was committed in the entrance to our room but the evidence remains. There were also other big ugly stains in the rug.
I know this isn't an expensive hotel but why would you leave that there? It completely tainted our experience and made me unwilling to walk around without shoes on in the room. Inconvenient I assumed it had been cleaned but the visual was revolting and there was no location in the room where you couldn't see it.
Recarpeting one room in the inn wouldn't break the bank. Not recarpeting one cost you a returning customer.
