POSITIVE:

The room was clean and the linens were pristine. There were European duvets on the bed, and I loved that they wash the bed linens before every new guest arrives. I thought the breakfast was outstanding! It was not your normal fare. There was a shredded hash brown casserole made with quinoa, white cheese, and excellent spices, french toast you just had to toast, Nutella, which I spread on toasted English muffins with their blueberry/blackberry compote. Canadian bacon and swiss cheese or provalone were there. The orange juice was on ice and of high quality. There was granola, blueberry chex, and another choice for cold cereal. Pecans, brown sugar, and raisins could be added to your cereal, and cold milk to put on top. Everything was presented most pleasingly. We were also given an “accessible” room even though our third party booking agent had failed to pass the word along. There is a beautifully kept outside pool that is open until October each year. The walk from the car to our room was literally 20 steps.

NEGATIVE:

Arriving at 5:30pm. I tried to open the door to the office, but it didn’t open as I expected it should. (I am obviously getting weaker in my senior years.) I could easily see inside, and no one was in the office. I then noticed the numbers for the lock on the outside of the door and the after hours doorbell, so I assumed, incorrectly, that I was supposed to ring the bell. After waiting 4-5 minutes, I went to the car and called the hotel. Someone answered at the same time the owner appeared in the doorway. Evidentially, the bell had summoned the owner, who thought the office manager was on duty. She was, but had been folding linens downstairs. So right away, the owner and the office manager were unhappy with me. I appreciated the office manager giving me an accessible room so my husband wouldn’t have to traverse the full stairway to a lower room,
